The grave of Muhammad Nafis is considered sacred by the Banjar people. As a Banjar Sufi scholar who is known as a figure who contributed to the spread of Islam in Banjar, this tomb is often visited by the community for pilgrimage. This paper aims to investigate the motives for the pilgrimage to Muhammad Nafis' grave. As a complement to several previous studies that have reviewed the life history, works left behind, and the concept of Sufism taught. This research uses a phenomenological approach to describe the experiences and meanings of pilgrims. This study describes and reports a certain situation, object, symptom, habit, and behavior that occurs in the habits of the community, then analyzed more sharply also based on the results of interviews with pilgrims who come to the tomb. The findings in the field show that there are several aspects that become the background of tomb pilgrimage, ranging from cultural, spiritual, economic, social, health, to the ease of studying. The motives driving people to make pilgrimages are the collective awareness of the community in carrying out these activities, which is called intentionality based on the perspective of pilgrims who have their own goals. In this case, it is said that grave pilgrimage is a habit that has been passed down by previous ancestors which continues to be carried out from time to time with different generations for different reasons.

Wisata religi merupakan salah satu jenis wisata yang berhubungan dengan aspek-aspek keagamaan. Kegiatan wisata ke tempat keagamaan memiliki makna tertentu bagi umat beragama. Salah satu destinasi wisata religi di Kota Palembang terdapat di Komplek Pemakaman Ki Marogan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui potensi wisata religi makam Ki Marogan sebagai upaya untuk melestarikan kearifan lokal di Kota Palembang. penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif yang bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan berbagai fakta secara akurat dan sistematis. Jenis data pada penelitian ini menggunakan data primer dan data skunder. Teknik pengumpulan data melalui wawancara yang mandalam dan observasi langsung ke makam Ki Marogan, sedangkan sumber data sekunder melalui penelusuran literatur dari buku, jurnal, dan laporan penelitian terkait informasi makam Ki Marogan. Berdasarkan dari observasi lapangan bahwa Komplek Pemakaman Ki Marogan memiliki daya tarik tersendiri sebagai wisata religi yang ada di Kota Palembang. Salah satunya terdapat masjid Ki Marogan yang merupakan masjid tertua di Kota Palembang dan memiliki arsitektur yang dipengaruhi oleh kebudayaan Cina, India, dan Arab. Religious tourism is a type of tourism related to religious aspects. Tourist activities to religious places have a certain meaning for religious people. One of the religious tourism destinations in Palembang City is in the Ki Marogan Cemetery Complex. This research aimed to determine the potential of religious tourism of Ki Marogan's tomb as an effort to preserve local wisdom in Palembang City. The method used was a descriptive qualitative research method with the aim of describing various facts accurately and systematically. The type of data in this study was carried out using primary data and secondary data. As for data collection techniques through deep interviews and direct observation to Ki Marogan's tomb, while the secondary data source was through literature search from books, journals, and research reports related to Ki Marogan's tomb information. This research discussed the existence of Ki Marogan tomb, religious tourism in the Ki Marogan Cemetery Complex, and the values of local wisdom of Ki Marogan tomb. Based on field observations, the Ki Marogan Cemetery Complex has its own charm as a religious tour in the city of Palembang. One of them is the Ki Marogan mosque which is the oldest mosque in Palembang City and has architecture influenced by Chinese, Indian and Arabic culture.

The 19th century was the peak of the mission era and the beginning of the 20th century was the period of independence of the Protestant Church by inviting various missionary organizations from Europe to carry out their missions in the Dutch East Indies. This was a major threat to Muslims, including Palembang Malay Muslims. This article seeks to complement existing research with the aim of knowing the resistance factors of local elites in the Palembang Malay community. This study uses a socio-historical approach by making use of James C. Scoot’s resistance theory. Scoot’s theory of resistance. This study concludes that the resistance of local elites in Palembang Malay society is caused by the central role of local religious elites in preaching and teaching the Muslim community in Palembang to remote areas. The elites a r e in the category of free ulama. Figures such as Abdullah Munsyi and the Samaniyah tarekat teachers who made various efforts to save Muslims from Islamic politics run by the Dutch East Indies. Efforts were made such as the construction of various places that served as centers of Islamic studies such as langgar, mosques, and madrasas.
