Percepción de la población sobre el derrame de petróleo en la Refinería la Pampilla en las costas del litoral marino, Perú

Abstract: The oil spill at the La Pampilla refinery, managed by REPSOL, will have strong environmental impacts on the Peruvian coast, damaging marine life and other biological elements. This study seeks to analyze the population's perception of the oil spill at the La Pampilla Refinery through a nonexperimental quantitative-descriptive method. The people who participated in the survey, composed of 7 items, amounted to 1554 individuals, considering it a representative sample for the study's purpose. The

“…Reportedly, intertidal biota might have provided subsistence for coastal populations even through challenging climate conditions from El Niño Southern Oscillation (ENSO) [78]. Currently, intertidal communities are affected not only by ENSO cycles but also by pollution and overfishing for bait and human consumption [79,80]. Assessing the state of intertidal communities is challenged by the lack of long-term monitoring and the lack of knowledge of non-commercial species [10,81].…”

“…Pulido Capurro et al 57 , shows that 90% of the population identifies the cause of the spill and recognizes the negative consequences of the accident. They mention that it will leave strong environmental impacts on the Peruvian coast, damaging marine life and other biotic components.…”
