Perception of sleep in the elderly

Abstract: Background: Discrepancies between objectively and subjectively measured sleep variables make diagnosing insomnia in the elderly difficult. Also relevant to diagnosing insomnia in the elderly are expectations about sleep, gender and use of sedative-hypnotic medication.
