Introduction: The National Policy on Integral Health of Lesbians, Gays, Bisexuals, Transvestites, and Transsexuals (PNSILGBT+) aims to eliminate discrimination and institutional prejudice in public health services, with emphasis on training and enabling professionals to assist in the care of this population. However, for transsexuals and transvestites, this access continues to be neglected. Aim: To determine the profile of health professionals, their academic-professional training in health, and their knowledge about the specificities of gender identity. Materials and Methods: This is a cross-sectional, observational, quantitative survey conducted with health professionals working in the Caetés Region. Data were collected using a semi-structured questionnaire, which was applied online via Google Forms in the period from March 2021 to August 2021. Results: The sample consisted of 73 participants: 82.19% female, 100% cisgender, with a mean age of 32.37±7.80 years, and the majority self-declared as Catholic (65.75%). The largest number of health professionals were in Nursing (34.24%), practicing in Tertiary Care (50.68%), with an average time of service of 6.24±6.30 years. The volunteers reported that they did not understand the difference between cisgender and transgender people (57.53%), admitting that they had not received any training on gender identity or the healthcare of Lesbians, Gays, Bisexuals, Transvestites, and Transsexuals (LGBT)+ people (79.45%). However, 87.67% understood the importance of training on this subject for the healthcare of this population. Conclusion: The academic training and professional development of health professionals are still lacking when it comes to the theme studied; a fundamental point needed to comply with the National Curricular Guidelines (NCDs) for courses in health, National Policy for Professional Development, and in particular, the PNSILGBT+. Clinical Implications: This study demonstrates the need for continued trainings on gender identity, health and care of the LGBT+ population, with a focus on transgender people, to eliminate institutional bias. Strengths and limitations: The research was based on the search for professionals' knowledge about gender identity, even in healthcare in a region in the interior of the Amazon, however it did not reach the preterit sample n, but it was important for the debate between the professionals reached and the institutions and their managers. Nursing actions in Primary Health Care to lesbian and bisexual women

Objective: to investigate the actions of nurses in regard to lesbian and bisexual women in the context of the National Policy for the Integral Health of Lesbians, Gays, Bisexuals, Cross-Dressers and Transgender Persons. Methods: qualitative study involving 25 nurses from the Family Health Strategy, contacted via electronic means. We applied a form containing sociodemographic data and an investigation of actions in primary health care, as well as a thematic content analysis. Results: we found there are professional capacitation activities, embracing of demands, and enhanced interprofessional work. Nonetheless, there were shortcomings in the knowledge regarding health care towards lesbian and bisexual women. Conclusion: there are still prejudices, difficulty to access, and little attendance of lesbian and bisexual women in health services, as well as a deficit in the support to health actions and lack of monitoring. Contributions to practice: the importance of the scientific, professional, and social experiences stand out, regarding the need to humanize the care to lesbian and bisexual women. It is a supporting material for researchers and nursing professionals, enabling them to direct their care to a holistic and integral care to be provided to these women, in addition to being an encouragement to further comparative studies.

Introdução: A limitada abordagem da saúde da população LGBTQIA+ no currículo de uma tradicional faculdade de medicina em São Paulo mobilizou cinco graduandos a fundarem a Liga Acadêmica de Saúde da População LGBTQIA+. Essa entidade estudantil aprofunda a pesquisa e promove projetos que integram os acadêmicos à sociedade, conectando teoria à prática profissional. Objetivo: Esse relato descreve o estabelecimento da Liga, desde a identificação da sua necessidade até os seus primeiros resultados. Métodos: Os eventos do processo de implementação foram descritos cronologicamente. A avaliação da Liga pelos participantes foi através de uma plataforma eletrônica com 14 perguntas sobre a qualidade das atividades e a análise do engajamento à Liga foi via listas de presença. Adicionalmente, foram pesquisadas quantas faculdades de medicina no Estado de São Paulo (SP) possuem uma liga acadêmica de foco semelhante, avaliando o pioneirismo da Liga. Resultados: Foram realizadas oito aulas sobre saúde LGBTQIA+, consideradas com “boa” qualidade por todos os 12 respondentes do formulário. Contudo, o engajamento foi abaixo do esperado. Ainda, a Liga demonstra caráter pioneiro, visto que apenas 12,3% das faculdades de medicina em SP têm ligas de foco semelhante. Conclusão: A Liga tem se consolidado como um ambiente de estudo e acolhimento aos seus participantes. Futuramente, visa-se implementar projetos de extensão no Centro de Referência da Diversidade (CRD) e no Ambulatório de Saúde Integral da Pessoa Trans (ASIPT) do Centro de Saúde Escola da Barra Funda, capacitando futuros profissionais da saúde a compreender às demandas e às vivências da população LGBTQIA +.
