Abstract:The Challenge Language teachers' classroom practices reflect their underlying knowledge and beliefs, but why do individual teachers conceive different perceptions about teaching language? Do individuals' learning and teaching experiences influence their perceptual development? This study investigated perceptual differences about character instruction between native vs. nonnative, and secondary vs. postsecondary instructors of Japanese.
