Abstract:Performance of an optical burst switching with two-way reservation is analyzed using queueing theoretical approach in this paper. The switching considered hereafter exploits both the resource sharing nature of packet switching and the highspeed transmission capability of wavelength division multiplexing in optical networks. Under the swiching architecture, when a group of packets to be addressed to the same edge node of an optical network and thus to be put in an optical burst gets ready for transmission at an… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
