Performance and robustness analysis of a fuzzy-immune flow controller in ATM networks with time-varying multiple time-delays

Abstract: Dimirovski, Georgi M. (Dogus Author)For the Asynchronous Transfer Mode (ATM) networks with time-varying multiple time-delays, a more realistic model for the available bit rate (ABR) traffic class with explicit rate feedback is introduced. A fuzzy-immune controller is designed, which can adjust the rates of ABR on-line, overcome the bad effect caused by the saturation nonlinearity and satisfy the weighted fairness. Also, the sufficient condition that guarantees the stability of the closed-loop system with a fuz… Show more

“…Traditional IP network services model has been extended in order to provide quality of service guarantees and support real-time applications, the Differentiated Services model is one of the important one [4][5][6][7][8]. The basic idea of the Differentiated Services is the flows that entered into the network will be divided into a variety of different types at the edge of the network, the same type of flows will be combined and bundling transferred, and each type is processed separately in the network.…”

“…Different queue scheduling algorithm used to solve different problems, and produce different results, therefore, the priority algorithms are necessary to ensure the critical business. However, in order to ensure the real-time nature of the real-time data, we suggest the priority queuing techniques similar to RTP (Real-time Transport Protocol), RTP priority queue is a simple queuing technique to guarantee the QoS of real-time business [7][8][9]. Its principle is to send the RTP packets carried voice or video to the high priority queues, therefore, the RTP packets can be send priority to ensure a minimum of delay and jitter, thereby, the QoS can be guaranteed for such delay-sensitive business as voice or video.…”

“…In the differentiated service model, the different service quality requirements have different per-hop behavior, and the packets with the same PHB mark will be the same treatment in the core nodes. But, path-based aggregation method aggregate flows experience the same path under a certain granularity definition, the path can be expressed as node or hop sequence that flows go through, and the granularity is the degree of the path defined, the VC/VP of ATM can be seen as a example of path based aggregation method [6][7][8].…”

“…MPLS Achieve the Performance of Delay Guarantee Through the Analog Circuit Switching. Essentially, the LSP is similar to VC of ATM [8], that is, the packets flow with a certain direction from the starting router to the termination router. Duplex businesses need two LSP, each LSP used to carry on a business in its own direction.…”
