“…In hybrid BTMS, the heat inside battery pack was first transmitted to outside through a heat pipe, while air cooling coupled with intermittent spray cooling further dissipated the heat at the high‐power case. In addition, Jang et al [ 176 ] designed a liquid cooling–heat pipe hybrid BTMS, aiming to improve the heat‐transfer efficiency. They compared the effect of heat pipe type on the cooling performance of BTMS.…”

“…The researchers investigated the effects of a hybrid BTM system, which consists of passive cooling using HP and active cooling through the use of liquid. The researchers discovered that by utilizing this hybrid cooling method under optimal conditions, the T max can be reduced by 9.4 °C, and the T max of the battery can be maintained below 42 °C at discharging rate of 4 C. [ 44–47 ] It was also determined that the latent heat of CPCM could be increased by ≈27.5% when using this hybrid cooling method during a discharge rate of 2 C. Figure 15 shows the battery cooling arrangement using a HP with a cold plate. The fluid flows via a cold plate connected to the bottom of the prismatic battery, and HPs are attached along with the battery.…”
