Performance enhancements of semi-active vehicle air ISD suspension

Yujie Shen,
Ang Chen,
Fu Du
et al.

Abstract: To explore an innovative approach for enhancing the vibration isolation performance of vehicle air suspension systems, this study introduces the inerter element into the vehicle air suspension and investigates the dynamic behavior of the semi-active vehicle air ISD (inerter-spring-damper) suspension. Initially, a dynamic model of the quarter semi-active vehicle air ISD suspension is established, followed by conducting multi-objective optimization of the core parameters using the genetic algorithm. Subsequently… Show more

“…For sensitivity analysis, it is conducted on the parameters r 1 , r 2 , r 3 , r 4 , h, n, and ρ, and the central values of these seven parameters are set at 13 mm, 25 mm, 6 mm, 40 mm, 40 mm, 10 turns, and 1000 kg/m 3 . The sensitivity coefficient is used as the evaluation indicator of the sensitivity level of parameters, and it is calculated by Equation (15). S and p are the sensitivity coefficient and the percentage of the parameter change, respectively.…”

“…Compared with the classical "mass-spring-damper" system, which has been applied to the vibration isolation system [2,3], it will not increase the mass and volume significantly [4]. Numerous scholars have conducted extensive research on the application of this vibration isolation system, including but not limited to buildings [5,6], bridges [7][8][9][10], trains [11,12], vehicles [13][14][15], floating offshore wind turbines [16,17], aircraft [18], wave energy converters [19,20], etc. Its ability to improve the vibration isolation performance of the system has been widely verified.…”
