Performance Investigation of Switched Reluctance Motor Driven by Quasi-Z-Source Integrated Multiport Converter with Different Switching Algorithms

Abstract: Switched reluctance machines (SRMs) have received increasing attention for their many potential uses, such as for wind power and electric vehicle (EV) drive systems. The Quasi-Z-source Integrated Multiport Converter (QZIMPC) was recently introduced to improve the reliability of the SRM driver through small capacitance values. It is not possible, however, to simultaneously energize and deenergize two SRM phases in QZIMPC. This phenomenon can significantly increase the commutation period which, in turn, degrades… Show more

“…Scholars have laid a g foundation for more than 30 years of research on bearingless switched relucta machines. At present, all kinds of motor structures have achieved preliminary suspen operation in a laboratory environment [6][7][8][9][10][11][12][13]. In the research process of m optimization design and control strategy, the torque model based on flux-link saturation is a very important research basis and premise.…”

“…Through the use of these, topologies two voltage levels will be generated, allowing for the magnetization or demagnetization of the machine windings. However, other solutions have been used and proposed, such as the multilevel topologies and other solutions based on the impedance source [29][30][31][32][33][34]. Several aspects should be considered for the choice of the power converter topology, such as the speed range, torque ripple, and performance, among others.…”

“…A boost converter for SRM with a faster current build-up and rapid demagnetization has been proposed in [26]. C-dump converters with boosting voltage capability have been reviewed in [27]. A converter with a passive boost function for SRM has been presented in [28] for torque ripple reduction.…”
