“…In contrast to the Raman spectrum of the calcined cobalt aluminate sample, the synthesised and calcined cobalt titanate matches with published spectra for CoTiO3 33,[43][44][45] with major peaks at 240, 270, 339, 388, 617, and 687 cm -1 (Figure 2). However, once again the Raman spectra in the literature are contradictory.…”

“…In particular the peaks at 481 and 521 cm -1 are inconsistently identified for CoTiO3 samples in previously published work. 33,43 Mixed-metal cobalt oxides not only exhibit an increased thermal stability when compared to cobalt oxide, but also are more difficult to reduce in H2-containing atmospheres. 46 TPR is a commonly applied characterisation technique for such hardto-reduce species and has been applied for the calcined mixed-metal cobalt oxide samples.…”

“…Deng et al [ 74 ] proposed that methanol as a solvent in oxidative solvolysis of lignin model compounds, which could afford active H species for the hydrogenolysis of the β-O-4 bond, producing phenol and acetophenone. Similarly, Shilpy et al [ 92 ] investigated the influence of the property of the solvent on the oxidative solvolysis of vanillyl alcohol and vanillin. The highest conversion rate was observed in acetic acid (91%), followed by ethyl alcohol (70%), acetonitrile (67%), N , N -dimethyl formaldehyde (35%), tetrahydrofuran (20%) and acetone (1%).…”

“…Vanillyl alcohol is oen considered to be one of the model compounds representing lignin since its structure is similar to one of the building block units of lignin. [9][10][11][12][13] Selective oxidative products of vanillyl alcohol are important platform chemicals in pharmaceutical and perfume industries and it is also used as a food grade avor. 14,15 Ma et al summarized the homogeneous catalysts investigated for lignin valorization.…”

“…Mariom et al reported CoTiO 3 catalyst using H 2 O 2 resulted in catalytic activity of 66% with a 6 h reaction time. 9 Recently, Balachandra et al reported preparation of nano Fe 3 O 4 @APTES@Ni (OH) 2 catalyst with 73% conversion in a 8 h reaction time. 21 Also, another group of researchers reported a carbon supported iron oxide catalyst with 86% selectivity for vanillyl alcohol oxidation.…”
