Zothanpuii et al (2015) found that crossbred calves fed lower protein calf starter with higher nitrogen-free extract (22% CP) showed a significantly increased body weight compared to those fed calf starters with higher protein (24% and 26% CP) and lower nitrogen-free extract. Our results showed the similar growth tendency; however, no significant difference among different groups, which we hypothesized the BW appears to be affected by many factors, including the individual difference and interaction of the level of protein and starch in the diet.…”
