Abstract:We investigate the performance of parity-based reliable multicast in third-generation networks in terms of residual packet error rate, throughput and delay. For multicast over the CDMA air interface, we distinguish between the use of point-tomultipoint (PTM) channels that are broadcast over the entire cell or separate point-to-point (PTP) channels that are transmitted to individual users of the group. As a first step, the residual packet error rates of the radio link control (RLC) layer using PTM and PTP chann… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
