Abstract:The performance of the SLAC 2-meter streamer chamber is evaluated using the results of a high-statistics, multibody-photoproduction experiment carried out with an 18 GeV bremsstrahlung beam. The instrumental arrangement is outlined, and the data-analysis procedures are described in detail. Special methods are then discussed for dealing with trigger, dip-angle, and hydrogen-target losses and for weighting the surviving events. Finally, the spatial resolution, instrumental efficiency, and overall normalization ac… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
