Abstract: 7and the larger spleens cannot be satisfactorily explained at present.Summary. Liver catalase activity in Friend virus-infected germfree mice is significantly depressed below normal values at a stage when splenomegaly is marked and liver involvement slight. The indications are that splenomegaly alone is related to lo'wered liver catalase rather than mild liver damage or the presence of virus as such.
