Perioperative management of hydrocephalus

Abstract: Distinguish between the clinical features of communicating and non-communicating hydrocephalus. Define the indications for external ventricular drains (EVD), ventriculo-peritoneal shunts and lumbar drains. Explain the practical aspects of EVD management in intensive care.
