Abstract: Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a chronic autoimmune disorder that causes joint inflammation, pain, and potential disability. Patients with RA have unique needs when undergoing total joint arthroplasty (TJA). Careful and comprehensive evaluation and management includes physical assessment, patient history, and knowledge about the medication regimen in the setting of elective TJA.
