Peritoneal Dialysis

Abstract: Peritoneal dialysis is becoming more important in the management of patients with end-stage renal disease. Because of the efforts of the ?Fistula First Breakthrough Initiative,? dialysis venous access in the United States has become focused on promoting arteriovenous fistula creation and reducing the number of patients who start dialysis with a tunneled catheter.
