Perivascular adipose tissue in the pathogenesis of cardiovascular disease

Abstract: Perivascular adipose tissue (PVAT) is an active regulator of vascular homeostasis. In physiological conditions, it maintains normal function of vessels, releasing antiatherogenic, anti-inflammatory and vasodilating biologically active substances.
