Perovskite Solar Cells: Toward All Slot‐Die Fabricated High Efficiency Large Area Perovskite Solar Cell Using Rapid Near Infrared Heating in Ambient Air (Adv. Energy Mater. 37/2020)

Abstract: In article number 2001567, Yu‐Ching Huang, Wei‐Fang Su, and co‐workers demonstrate a facile process for the mass‐production of perovskite solar cells. The process integrates slot‐die coating and near‐infrared irradiation heating techniques, combined with a new perovskite precursor formula to rapidly produce large‐area perovskite solar cells and modules in air.

“…The solution processing associated with individual layers of perovskite solar cells (PSCs) greatly inuenced the scaling-up of technology from lab-sized devices to large-area modules, which have been fabricated on a variety of substrates. [32][33][34][35][36][37][38] In this regard, numerous congurations [39][40][41][42] initially designed to produce lab-sized PSC devices have also been explored to scaleup the technology. [43][44][45][46] Notably, three fundamental congurations (mesoporous n-i-p, planar n-i-p, and planar p-i-n) have emerged as the most applied in the scaling-up of PSCs (Fig.…”

“…While the die head or substrate moves relatively, a uniform wet thin film is generated by dragging the capillary coating bead. To obtain high-quality perovskite films, some operating parameters should be carefully designed, such as the ink flow rate, coating speed, coating gap, and operating temperature [113,[115][116][117]. In addition, the properties of precursor ink, including the concentration and composition of solutions, the solvent volatility, and the surface tension of the coating ink, play a decisive role in the quality of the final films by intervening in the solidification process of the wet films.…”
