EDCs are derived from plants and food and consumer products (Diamanti‐Kandarakis et al , ) and include nonylphenol (NP), ethinyl oestradiol (EE2), bisphenol‐A (BPA) and alkylphenol ethoxylates, precursors to more common NPs and octylphenols (Huang & Sedlak, ; Diehl et al , ; Ferreira, ).
