The success of research projects largely depends on the interaction of students and supervisors. Purposes of the study were to identify the students' expectations of interaction; and to compare the subjective supervisors' estimates of students' research abilities with students' research abilities measured by objective indicators. A sample consisted of students (bachelors, masters, graduates) and supervisors from different faculties of St.-Petersburg State University. The questionnaire; content analysis; psycho diagnostic techniques for studying students' intellectual abilities and research potential, and 10-point assessment scales for supervisors were used. Students' expectations from supervisors were described. It was shown that supervisors' evaluations were often inexact and correlated more with external indicators of research activity of students than with their intellectual capacities. Necessity of focused work to improve the accuracy of the mutual understanding of students and supervisors was substantiated.

ISSN 0104-530X (Print) ISSN 1806-9649 (Online) Abstract: Projects form part of organizational activities and have a direct impact on the organization's results and performance. Improving project management performance can have a positive effect on an organization. Being ultimately responsible for project results, the project manager has factors within its personal characteristics that may affect project performance. The purpose of this study is to analyse the project manager's personal characteristics in relation to its effects on project performance using an empirical survey of 244 project managers. The results show that skills, knowledge and attitudes directly affect project performance and that personality traits do not have direct effects, but indirectly affect attitudes. The results also show that certification in project management does not directly affect project performance but has a moderating effect on the relationship between the project manager's skills and knowledge and project management performance. The article is devoted to the problem of humanitarian control of interactions in modern technological culture. Particular attention is paid to the technology of information manipulation, the relationship of digital culture and the individual lifeworld. The objectives of the article include identification of the specifics of interacting subjects in information environments, clarifying the principles of their design in the network order. The need is stressed for a civilizational approach that emphasizes the relevance of ethical relationship as the basis for the humanitarian control over the design of interactions in technogenic environments. Nowadays, civilization is interpreted as a "society of knowledge" that unites the components of the technosphere and the political, ethical, cultural, mental aspects of social life. The study is conducted in terms of the interdisciplinary approach, in which context any object is treated as a sociotechnical one, included into the communication environment and into the system of subject interactions. The article specifies the methods of subject interactions design in information environments. The practical aspect of interactions designing technology is demonstrated in the process of making optimal decisions when a new product is created. The main conclusion is that in the network space, the interaction of human and technology should be considered from the standpoint of partner relations.
