Aim: This study was conducted to determine the effects of complaints during pregnancy on quality of life and the relationship between fear of childbirth and stress.
Materials and Methods: The study was conducted in the NST polyclinic of a hospital in a province in eastern Turkey between October 30, 2023 and December 2023. The universe of the study consisted of pregnant women who were 20 weeks or older and applied to the NST polyclinic. The data of the study were collected by the researcher through face-to-face interviews. Data collection forms were collected in a single session lasting approximately 10 minutes. The sample size was calculated using Openepi version 3.01. The sample size was calculated as at least 367 pregnant women with a 5% error level, a two-way significance level, a 95% confidence interval, and 80% power.
Results: The total mean scores of the pregnant women from the PCILQ, W-DEQ and TPDS scales were determined as 48.7±17.5 for PCILQ, 85.3±25.7 for W-DEQ and 13.7±7.2 for TPDS, respectively. The total mean scores from the TPDS sub-dimensions were determined as 3.5±3.1 for the Spousal Involvement sub-dimension and 10.1±6.3 for the Negative Affect sub-dimension, respectively.
