Pet ownership-related differences in medical and long-term care costs among community-dwelling older Japanese

Abstract: This study examined the differences in medical and long-term care costs over 18 months between pet owners and non-owners among community-dwelling older Japanese. Pet ownership data were collected from 460 community-dwelling adults age 65 years and older.
