Kaygusuz et al, , 2013Kaygusuz et al, , 2014, reveal the presence of approximately 91-75 Ma magmatism with a compositional transition from low-K to high-K calc-alkaline series at approximately 84 Ma. These results, in combination with the changes of sedimentary facies before and after the Upper Santonian (approximately 84 Ma) (Bektaş et al, 2001;Eyuboglu et al, 2014), allow us to attribute the changes of magma composition to the slab rollback of the southward subducting Black Sea (Paleotethys) oceanic lithosphere at approximately 84 Ma.…”
