Abstract:Diabetes currently afflicts 34.2 million Americans, and approximately 1 in 3 are prediabetic (CDC, 2020). Type 2 diabetes (T2D) is a metabolic disorder characterized by hyperglycemia due to the combination of insulin resistance and insufficient insulin production.
