Pharmacokinetic characteristics of azithromycin in freshwater crocodiles (Crocodylus siamensis) after intramuscular administration at three different dosages

Abstract: 9a-position in the lactone ring of azalide. This structural change provides better stability and tissue distribution than erythromycin (Coke et al., 2003;Girard et al., 1987). It is a highly lipophilic drug that can accumulate in phagocytes, increasing the drug penetration to pyogenic infection sites (Coke et al., 2003;Leclere et al., 2012).
