Abstract:Pharmacokinetic algorithms for dosing range from practical nomograms and formulas to conventional or Bayesian, weighted, least-squares regression methods that adapt parameter-values to concentration data. Choice of an algorithm depends on the degree of risk from undertreatment and overtreatment, the availability of measurable, pharmacodynamic endpoints to guide dosage selection during treatment, and the level of effort needed to ensure safe and effective therapy. The concept of pharmacokinetic-pharmacodynamic … Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
