“…Therefore, a comparison with previous reports relevant to this study was necessary. The mean T max and t 1/2 of ephedrine reported in previous studies were 0.29-3.08 and 1.00-9.76 h, respectively [21][22][23][24][25]. The T max and t 1/2 of ephedrine obtained after the oral administration of SCRT were 0.85 ± 0.22 and 1.62 ± 0.74 h, respectively, within the range of the previously reported values.…”

“…The T max and t 1/2 of paeoniflorin obtained after the oral administration of SCRT were 1.40 ± 0.55 and 1.27 ± 0.55 h, respectively, within the range of the previously reported values. The mean T max and t 1/2 of cinnamic acid reported in previous studies were 0.08-1.48 and 0.33-4.14 h, respectively [21,[38][39][40][41][42][43][44]. The T max of cinnamic acid obtained after the oral administration of SCRT was 0.35 ± 0.14 h, within the range of the previously reported values.…”

“…EH and GR comprise a commonly used pair‐herb, which is widely used in the treatment of respiratory diseases, such as Mahuang decoction and Maxing–Shigan decoction. Based on our results and other articles, the pharmacokinetic parameters, such as T max , of ephedrine, pseudoephedrine and methylephedrine were quite different in YZS, Mahuang decoction (Wan et al, 2020) and Maxing–Shigan decoction (Li et al, 2015), which indicated that the different herbs combined with the EH–GR pair would influence the pharmacokinetic characteristics of these compounds. Similarly, differences in the pharmacokinetic profiles of glycyrrhizic acid and glycyrrhetinic acid could also be found in different prescriptions containing an EH–GR pair.…”

“…(ii) For in vivo single drug studies, microdialysis being applied for PK monitoring and quantification of drugs in skin tissue ( Voelkner et al 2018 ) and plasma ( Girondi et al, 2018 , Wang et al, 2020c ), among others. (iii) For complex component systems, investigators established the study of Ermiao wan metabolites in bile ( Zhao et al, 2020 ) and Mahuang decoction in blood and brain ( Wan et al, 2020 ). (iv) It was used for the evaluation of PK parameters of drugs, especially combining PD and PK ( Wang et al, 2019 , Guo et al, 2019 ).…”
