Pharmacological approach of plants traditionally used in treating hypertension in Morocco

Abstract

L'hypertension artérielle représente un problème majeur de santé publique. Selon l'Organisation mondiale de la santé (OMS), plus de 20 % de la population mondiale souffre des anomalies de la pression artérielle. Les études pharmacologiques ont supporté l'usage traditionnel de nombreuses plantes médicinales utilisées dans la pharmacopée marocaine pour le traitement de l'hypertension. Ce travail présente une synthèse des études sur la phytothérapie de l'hypertension au Maroc.Abstract: Hypertension is a serious public health problem. According to the World Health Organisation (WHO), more than 20% of the world's population has abnormal arterial blood pressure. Pharmacological investigations have supported the traditional use of several medicinal plants from the Moroccan pharmacopoeia for the treatment of hypertension. This review addresses a bibliographic survey of the study of hypertension phytotherapy in Morocco.
