“…Similar results were achieved by other two studies, in which MF was submitted to complexation with different types of phospholipids, that is, egg phospholipid Lipoid E 80, with a percentage of phosphatidylcholine about 80%, and soya phospholipid Lipoid S 100, with a percentage of phosphatidylcholine about 100% . The bioavailability was measured through improved pharmacokinetic parameters and antioxidant and hepatoprotective activities in experimental animals.…”

“…In recent years, a growing number of studies has focused on the improvement of oral bioavailability through the increase of solubility and more recently through the increase of both solubility and membrane permeability . One of the earliest studies aimed to increase the absorption of MF in the gastrointestinal tract through the membrane permeability improvement, was published by Wang et al .…”

“…Mechanistically, it also inhibited Pb(II)-induced activation of nuclear translocation of NF-κB, mitogen-activated protein kinases (MPAKs) (phosphor-ERK 1/2, phosphor-JNK phosphor-p38), and apoptotic cell death. Similarly, mangiferin considerably lowered the levels of total bilirubin, ALP, serum-glutamate pyruvate-transminase (SGPT), and serum-glutamate oxaloacetate-transminase (SGOT) [88]. …”

“…MF herbosomes also showed significantly decreased level of malonyl dehydrogenase along with increased levels of reduced glutathione, superoxide dismutase (SOD) and catalase as compared to plain MF which was also comparable to the standard drug, Silymarin (SL). 20 The traditional uses of Andrographolide (AN) obtained from Andrographis paniculata Linn include treatment of fever, inflammation, common cold, tonsilitis, pharyngitis, laryngitis, pneumonia, tuberculosis, pyelonephritis and hepatic impairment etc. The equimolar dose of drug shows lesser absorption and elevated levels of SGOT and SGPT in serum as compared to its phytosome dose indicating its hepatoprotective nature.…”
