Phase Centre Corrections of GNSS Antennas and Their Consistency with ATX Catalogues

Abstract: Changes of the antenna models on permanent global navigation satellite system (GNSS) stations can lead to jumps and discontinuities in the coordinate time series. In this paper, the results of research on the adequacy of the antenna phase centre corrections (PCC) variations are presented by analysing its component—the antennas’ phase centre offset (PCO). For this purpose, height differences were determined using different and independent methods: EUREF Permanent Network (EPN) combined solutions, Precise Point … Show more

“…The highest order geometric levelling has been used as a main method for establishing of height system for state territories [1, 2] since the last decades of the 19 th century. The method is also widely applied for verification of monitoring of the recent vertical movements of the Earth's crust [3,4], verification and calibration of GNSS measurement [5] and chronometric levelling results [6]. The importance of the precise geometric levelling for civil engineering activities is also well-known [7].…”

“…RTK (real-time kinematics) differential technique can help improve GNSS's accuracy and reliability. The antennas and combined navigation modules used in this paper need to be calibrated according to the antenna phase center calibration method [35] before use. After calibration, the positioning accuracy can reach the centimeter level in an open environment.…”

The method is also widely applied for validation of gravimetric geoid [5] and quasigeoid models [6], verification of chronometric levelling results [7], monitoring of the recent vertical movements of the Earth's crust [3], verification and calibration of GNSS antennas [8], etc. The importance of the precise geometric levelling for civil engineering activities is also well-known [9].…”
