Phase diagram of BinSrCaCu3−nOy on the line 1≤n≤2

Abstract: The pseudobinary phase diagram of BinSrCaCu3−nOy was determined on the line 1≤n≤2 upon which the low Tc superconductor phase [Bi2(Sr,Ca)3Cu2Oy] and the semiconductor phase [Bi2(Sr,Ca)2CuOy] are located. The liquidus line of the superconductor phase was found to lie in the region 1.6≤n≤1.875. A small quantity of transparent crystal was found even in the melting phase, which suggests that samples with these compositions do not melt homogeneously. Therefore, single crystals or single-phase superconductor material… Show more

“…The most intensive studies have been devoted to the already classical system Y-Ba-Cu-O, as reviewed in [21- 28], which can be best analysed in terms of a partially open system Y-Ba-Cu-(O) [28]. Known binary edges [29][30][31][32][33][34] are eoUeetively shown in Figs 1 and 2 and complemented by the only known pseudobinary cut [35]. “…As a starting material, we prepared calcined powder of the nominal composition Bi 2.6 Sr 2 CaCu 2 O x . The addition of the extra bismuth oxide was to avoid the formation of Sr-Ca-Cu-O compounds at high temperatures [12,13]. This is near the solvent composition in the TSFZ method [12,14].…”
