Abstract: Purified myelin membranes (PMMs) are the starting material for biochemical studies, from individual components up to the isolation of detergent-resistant membrane (DRM) fractions or detergent-insoluble glycosphingolipid (DIG) fractions, which are commonly believed to resemble physiological lipid rafts.
