“…NbSe 2 or TiSe 2 , 9 until recently only (La 0.95 Se) VSe 2 , 22 (BiSe) 1+δ VSe 2 23,24 and (SnSe) 1+δ VSe 2 25 had been prepared containing vanadium diselenide. The first MLC from the Pb-V-Se phase diagram was not found until 2020 by Reisinger and Richter in Vienna 26,27 by annealing of weighted binary alloys with a mineralising agent of NH 4 Cl for several months. On the other hand, VSe 2 has been succesfully combined with SnSe, [28][29][30] SnSe 2 , 31 BiSe, 32 LaSe 1−x , 33 EuSe 33 and PbSe [34][35][36] in ferecrystals.…”

“…The number of atoms per unit area in each film was determined using a previously described X-ray fluorescence (XRF) technique . The calibration curve for each element was created by preparing the most Se-rich stoichiometric binary compound and using the Se calibration to determine the number of atoms per unit area in films with varying thickness.…”

“…The Mn–Pb–Se–V system was chosen because there is only one known thermodynamically stable ternary compound [(PbSe) 1+d ] 1 [VSe 2 ] 1 and no known quaternary compounds (see Figure ). There are also several known ternary compounds, [(PbSe) 1+d ] m [VSe 2 ] n , , providing the first test of our theoretical search approach. The known binary compounds (PbSe, MnSe, MnSe 2 , VSe, VSe 2 , V 2 Se 9 , V 5 Se 8 , V 3 Se 4 , V 5 Se 4 , VMn, and VMn 4 ) provide a number of candidates as potential interfacial layers in other heterostructures.…”
