“…Nuclear magnetic resonance spectra of 139 La, 27 Al, and 65 Cu nuclei were measured by Bruker Avance II spectrometer at room temperature in 9.4 T static magnetic field. The frequency-swept spectra were acquired by a modified Carr-Purcell-Meiboom-Gill (CPMG) pulse sequence where all (up to 50) induced spin echoes were coherently summed and their sum Fourier transformed.…”

“…These values correspond to a 3/2 atomic ratio of ((9/13)Mo+ (4/13)Nb)/Si or ((9/13)Mo+(4/13)Nb) 3 Si 2 . Mo 3 Si 2 and Nb 3 Si 2 are metastable phase of MoSi and NbSi systems, respectively [25,26]. These regions remained scattered in the MoSi 2 matrix thus a Si-decient phase did not form in Nb-containing samples beneath the oxide layer as it did in pure MoSi 2 .…”

“…Also, MoSi 2 is a promising material against oxidation at temperatures beyond 1,473 K due to the formation of a protective, glassy silica (SiO 2 ) layer on the surface [8]. However, it suffers from pest disintegration at a lower temperature range between 773 and 973 K, where the material is disintegrated into powders due to the generation of internal stresses during differential expansion of oxides [9,10]. At present, the mechanical alloying technology is used to prepare the MoSi-B and the Mo-Si-Al alloys and studies show that B and Al can improve the mechanical properties of MoSi 2 to some extent [11], but cannot improve the low-temperature oxidation resistance of coating, and cannot fundamentally solve the thermal stress mismatch problem between matrix material and coating [12][13][14].…”
