Abstract:we investigate and experimentally demonstrate an optical phase noise monitoring technique for non-return-to-zero differential-phase-shift keying (NRZ-DPSK) signals using the phase modulation detection. By applying this detection to optical phase noise (PN) monitoring, a 10-dB monitoring dynamic range is achieved when the OPEV varies from 50 0 to 85 0 (the corresponding phase modulator driving power varies from 1-dBm to 8-dBm).

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
