“…[6,7]. In this work, the compound Nd 9 Ga 4 (Sm 9 Ga 4 -type) instead of Nd 3 Ga (Cu 3 Au-type) exists in the Nd-Ga binary system at 773 K, which was confirmed in the studies of Nd-Ga-Si system at 870 K by Tokaychuk [12]. The Rietveld refinement for the XRD pattern of the sample with composition of Nd 3 Ga, shown in Fig.…”

“…It is reasonable to believe that the trace of ␣-GdGa 6 and Ga appears in the alloy is due to the deposition of the phases from the liquid phase equilibrated with NdGa 2.8 phase at 773 K during the quenching. The compound NdGa 6 was not found at 870 K [12]. A structural transformation from hexagonal Th 2 Ni 17 -type structure to rhombohedral Th 2 Zn 17 -type structure was found for substitution of Ga for Fe in the compounds Er 2 Fe 17 , Tm 2 Fe 17 and Dy 2 Co 17 [13,14], while substitution of Ga for Fe in Nd 2 Fe 17 keeps its rhombohedral Th 2 Zn 17 -type structure, but increases its lattice parameters obtained from the XRD pattern shown in Fig.…”
