“…The maximum synthesis temperature was based on phase diagrams of limiting quasi-binary systems and equalled 1070−1470 K. All alloys were annealed at 670 K for 500 h and then quenched in cold water. Same as in ZnSe-Ga 2 Se 3 -GeSe 2 system [5], the ZnSe-rich alloys were not homogeneous at this stage. Those were additionally powdered in an agate mortar, pressed into tablets which were sintered at 1370 K for 4 h, then 1170 K for 10 h and finally 670 K for 500 h.…”

“…Earlier, we have constructed the phase diagrams of the ZnSe-Ga 2 Se 3 -GeSe 2 [5], CdSe-Ga 2 Se 3 -GeSe 2 [6,7], HgSe-Ga 2 Se 3 -GeSe 2 [8], CdSe-Ga 2 Se 3 -SnSe 2 [9] i HgSe-Ga 2 Se 3 -SnSe 2 [10] systems. The glass-formation regions have been established in all these systems [11,12].…”

“…Earlier [9][10][11][12][13][14][15] stable phase diagrams have been constructed for some systems from this type and already used in the growth of single crystals of ternary compounds [16]. The glassformation regions have been also established in seven quasiternary systems (CdS-Ga 2 S 3 -GeS 2 [17,18], Zn(Cd,Hg) Se-Ga 2 Se 3 -GeSe 2 [19], Zn(Cd,Hg)Se-Ga 2 Se 3 -SnSe 2 [20]).…”

“…The development of the technology of the single crystal growth for the CdGa 2 S 4 , Cd 4 GeS 6 compounds from non-stoichiometric compositions, which are perspective for practical application, requires the study of the liquidus surface of the respective quasi-ternary systems and the determination of the crystallization paths of the phases. The stable phase diagrams for some of the systems of above-mentioned type that were investigated earlier [1][2][3][4][5][6][7][8], were used for the selection of initial compositions for the growth of the single crystals of ternary compounds [9]. These systems also draw interest by the possibility of obtaining certain alloys in the glassy state.…”
