Phase structure and electrical properties of 0.8Pb(Mg1/3Nb2/3)O3–0.2PbTiO3 relaxor ferroelectric ceramics prepared by the reaction‐sintering method

Abstract: Phase pure perovskite 0.8Pb(Mg 1/3 Nb 2/3 )O 3 -0.2PbTiO 3 (0.8PMN-0.2PT) ferroelectric (FE) ceramics were prepared by the reaction-sintering method at a sintering temperature range of 1200-1250 8C. The sintered ceramics exhibit large relative density, where the 0.8PMN-0.2PT ceramics sintered at 1250 8C possess the largest value of relative density, reaching 99.56% of the theoretical density. All the sintered 0.8PMN-0.2PT ceramics exhibit broad, diffused, and frequency-dependent dielectric response peaks at ar… Show more

“…The relative density of PLMN-XP different PT concentration are greater than 96% of the theoretical density as can be seen in Figure 2, which is especially suitable for electronic industry application [14]. The relative density of the two system exhibits the tendency to decrease when PT concentration is increased.…”

“…The electromechanical coupling coefficient ( K p ) and the mechanical quality factor ( Q m ) were determined by the resonance–antiresonance method using a TH2826 High Frequency LCR Meter (Changzhou Tonghui Electronic Co. Ltd., China). Detailed electrical properties measurement procedures were described elsewhere .…”

“…For electrical properties characterization, silver paste was coated on both surfaces of the well‐polished ceramics and fired at 550 °C for 30 min to provide robust electrodes. Detailed electrical properties measurement procedures were described elsewhere 13, 14.…”

“…(Na 1 − x K x )NbO 3 exhibits typical ABO 3 ‐type perovskite structure, in which the composition of Na/K = 1/1 locates close to the morphotropic phase boundary (MPB) and exhibits a moderate dielectric constant and an optimum piezoelectric response 9, 10. With the addition of a second component in the (Na 1/2 K 1/2 )NbO 3 (NKN) system, the NKN‐based ceramics can be prepared by the conventional solid‐state reaction method without the cold‐isotactic pressing process, but also with difficulty 10–14.…”
