Phenomenological aspects of 10D SYM theory with magnetized extra dimensions

Abstract: We present a particle physics model based on a ten-dimensional (10D) super Yang-Mills (SYM) theory compactified on magnetized tori preserving four-dimensional N = 1 supersymmetry. The low-energy spectrum contains the minimal supersymmetric standard model with hierarchical Yukawa couplings caused by a wavefunction localization of the chiral matter fields due to the existence of magnetic fluxes, allowing a semi-realistic pattern of the quark and the lepton masses and mixings. We show supersymmetric flavor struct… Show more

“…Thus, magnetic flux backgrounds are quite interesting. Indeed, several studies have been carried out to derive four-dimensional realistic models and study their phenomenological aspects, e.g., Yukawa couplings [5], 3 realization of quark/lepton masses and their mixing angles [14], higher order couplings [15], flavor symmetries [16][17][18][19][20][21], massive modes [22], and so on [23][24][25][26][27][28][29][30][31].…”

“…From a theoretical point of view, the flavor-dependent modulus mediation generally appears, e.g., in the case where the Yukawa hierarchy in the SM originates from the wave-JHEP07(2014)077 function localization on a cycle governed by the modulus in extra dimensions (see refs. [49] and [50] for examples in five-and ten-dimensional spacetime, respectively, and references therein). For the latter possibility, D-term contributions to soft scalar masses could arise from the UV-model with an anomalous U(1) A symmetry (see, e.g., ref.…”

“…Indeed, Z 2 orbifold models have been studied on several aspects, e.g. model building [15][16][17][18][19], realization of quark and lepton masses and their mixing angles and CP phase [20][21][22][23]. In addition, it is possible to introduce some degree of freedom on orbifold fixed points, e.g.…”
