Phenomenological aspects of composite Higgs scenarios: exotic scalars and vector-like quarks

Abstract: Composite Higgs models usually contain additional pseudo Nambu Goldstone bosons and vector-like quarks. We discuss various aspects related to their LHC phenomenology and provide summary plots of exclusion limits using currently available information. We also describe a general parametrisation implemented in a software for Monte Carlo simulations and study the SU (5)/SO(5) scenario as a concrete example.

“…This fermion sector exhibits an SU(5) Γ— SU(6) global symmetry. Its electroweak sector has been investigated in [18,28,29]. The chiral condensates πœ“πœ“ and πœ’ πœ’ spontaneously break the global symmetry to the stability group 𝑆𝑂 (5) Γ— 𝑆 𝑝 (6).…”

“…The presence of the additional pNGBs generates new decay channels for the top partners [19] besides the ones usually considered in direct searches at the LHC. These can substantially shift the mass bounds for these states for which we refer to [18] for a summary. These models do not only have an extended pNGB sector but usually contain also additional baryonic states which do not transform as SU(3) triplets.…”
