Phosphoketolase and KDPG aldolase metabolisms modulate photosynthetic carbon yield in cyanobacteria

Abstract: Cyanobacteria contribute to roughly a quarter of global net carbon fixation. During diel light/dark growth, dark respiration substantially lowers the overall photosynthetic carbon yield in cyanobacteria and other phototrophs.
