Abstract:Our previous studies have shown that the inhibition of neutral endopeptidase, an enzyme which degrades tachykinins increases anaphylactic contraction of guinea pig tracheal smooth muscle. It was suggested that anaphylactic release of tachykinin-like substances is likely to be responsible for the observed increases in tracheal contractions. To obtain additional information on the mechanisms responsible for anaphylactic release of tachykinins in guinea pig trachea, we examined the effects of phosphoramidon, an i… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
