Integrated commercial processes of phosphorus recovery as struvite (such as the AirPrex, PEARL, AshDec, and RecoPhos processes) are commonly employed at wastewater treatment plants . The AirPrex process for struvite production subjects wastewater sludge to CO 2 stripping by aeration followed by addition of Mg salts in a reactor to form struvite.
