Photo-elasticity of silk fibroin harnessing whispering gallery modes

Abstract: Silk fibroin is an important biomaterial for photonic devices in wearable systems. The functionality of such devices is inherently influenced by the stimulation from elastic deformations, which are mutually coupled through photo-elasticity.
