Background: Water in any form is the prime constitute of plant growth and development. Right amount of water applied at right time and in right quantity to any crop will helpful to get maximum yield potential of that crop. This is possible with surface drip irrigation method. Uniform application of water through emitters is the necessary aspect to avail benefits like higher water use efficiency of surface drip irrigation. Uniformity of surface drip irrigation system can be measured by various uniformity aspects viz., coefficient of variation (CV), distribution uniformity (DU), statistical uniformity (SU) and coefficient of uniformity (CU). Factors like land levelling, maintenance of drip lines, pressure management etc. plays a vital role in conserving the uniformity of outflow of emitters. Methodology: In this trial, all these uniformity aspects were measured using catch cane method at initial stage of drip irrigation system installation and on the basis of these dataset several improvements were made for better uniformity of emitter outflow at later planting stage. Results: Coefficient of uniformity (CU) of surface drip irrigation system was recorded 96.89% at initial stage and later on it was improved to 97.02% during the first experimental year whereas in second year it was noted 95.58% at initial stage and was improved to 96.80% at later stage.

Background: Present investigation was carried out to evaluate the performance of the different levels of GA3 and NAA as foliar spray on growth and yield attributes of cauliflower cv. Pusa Snowball KT-25 at Vegetable Research Farm, Regional Horticultural Research Station, ASPEE College of Horticulture and Forestry, Navsari Agricultural University, Navsari, Gujarat. Methods: The experiment was framed in Randomized Block Design with three replications, which included nine treatments. Results: The results revealed that the application of GA3 @ 150 mg l-1 (T5) recorded higher values for growth character viz., plant height (69.26 cm), number of leaves plant-1 (29.67), length of stalk (6.54 cm) as well as plant spread in N-S (69.48 cm) and E-W (71.70 cm). In case of yield attributes, the same treatment GA3 @ 150 mg l-1 (T5) at 40 and 60 DATP exhibited maximum curd diameter (17.80 cm), gross weight of curd (2.88 kg plant-1), net weight of curd (789.59 g plant-1), yield plot-1 (20.23 kg) and yield hectare-1 (31.22 t) followed by NAA @ 80 mg l-1 (T7). Whereas, days to 50 % curd initiation and days to first marketable curd did not show any significant differences.

Foreign companies import Afghan saffron, which is considered to be best quality in the world. These companies then apply their labels and market the product under their country names. By adopting methodology required for production and market analysis, a study was conducted to determine the potential for production, export and value share. The study used techniques such as compound annual growth rate (CAGR) and decomposition analysis to determine changes in the area, production and productivity of saffron from 1991-92 to 2021-22. The findings revealed that the growth rates of area, production and productivity of saffron significantly increased by 29.61 per cent, 29.06 per cent and 0.42 per cent annually respectively. Additionally, the returns per hectare of Afghanistan’s saffron were compared to other crops such as wheat, rice, corn and barley and the returns of saffron were found to be the highest. The export of Afghanistan’s saffron also increased annually, providing farmers with more income opportunities.
