Photoacoustic Spectra and Thermoelectric Properties of Amorphous Si/Au/Ge/Au Superlattice

Abstract: Single-crystalline nanostructured Zn 1−x Mn x S, a diluted magnetic semiconductor, was achieved via a simple vapour phase deposition on silicon substrates. Morphology, structure, and composition of the nanostructured Zn 1−x Mn x S were studied by using x-ray diffraction, transmission electron microscopy, and energy-dispersive spectroscopy. The nanostructured Zn 1−x Mn x S is composed of nanowires and nanobelts, which are quite flexible and free of defects. Both of them have smooth and straight surfaces with le… Show more

“…Some of the samples showed same tendency. That's why major carrier from dangling bonds and dopant in samples was changed since heat treatment decreased strain and defects [4]. Although best thermoelectric power was around -10 µVK -1 until 10th annealing cycle, it was increased around -6 mVK -1 at 16th annealing cycle.…”

“…The measurement of absorption spectra is one of the methods for the evaluating defects in samples. The vis-infrared (vis-IR) absorption spectra of the samples were studied using a gas-microphone photoacoustic spectroscopy (PAS) system, 11) operated in the 400-1600 nm range in a 5 nm step. A monochromatized light from a halogen lamp irradiated the samples.…”

“…55) As mentioned above, ultrasound interacts with light, and various measurement methods, devices, and applications based on this principle have been researched, forming a research field called acousto-optics. 30,31,34,39,40,[56][57][58][59][60][61][62][63][64][65][66][67][68][69][70][71][72][73][74][75] Brillouin scattering is caused when light is incident to a medium in which an ultrasonic wave propagates and the light and the ultrasonic wave interact with each other. This phenomenon itself is interesting and is also utilized to measure material properties such as elasticity and so forth.…”
