Photocatalytic Degradation of DIPA Using Bimetallic Cu-Ni/TiO2Photocatalyst under Visible Light Irradiation

Abstract: Bimetallic Cu-Ni/TiO2 photocatalysts were synthesized using wet impregnation (WI) method with TiO2 (Degussa-P25) as support and calcined at different temperatures (180, 200, and 300°C) for the photodegradation of DIPA under visible light. The photocatalysts were characterized using TGA, FESEM, UV-Vis diffuse reflectance spectroscopy, fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) and temperature programmed reduction (TPR). The results from the photodegradation experiments revealed that the Cu-Ni/TiO2 photocata… Show more

“…The better dispersion was achieved by the surface treatment of anatase TNPs with the assistance of KH570 surfactant. In the FTIR patterns, the peaks around 678.82 cm −1 corresponded to the metal oxide peak (here, anatase TiO2 nanoparticles), which was present in every sample containing ANT800 [79]. It assured that the presence of anatase TNPs was significant in the solutions.…”

“…Characteristic absorption peaks of PVB, the stretching vibrations of B-O-C bonds, were also observed on the spectrum of the composite (Figure 1b). Different from the spectrum of pure PVB, there was a broad absorption band between 600 cm −1 and 900 cm −1 , which was attributed to Ti-O stretching vibrations ( Figure 1b) [15]. This absorption band proved the presence of TiO 2 nanoparticles in PVB matrix.…”

“…Bimetallic catalyst was used as well to study the alkanolamine degradation. This includes Cu-Fe-TiO2 and CuNi/TiO2 photocatalyst study on DIPA degradation under visible light [2,4]. TiO2 has been widely employed as an important ingredient in industrial products such as paints, polymer products, and textile industry.…”
