Abstract:Photochemical degradation has been shown to be a significant pathway in the environmental fate of many cyanotoxins, compounds produced by harmful cyanobacteria. However, there has been a lack of research on the photochemical fate of saxitoxins. This project evaluated the direct and sensitized photodegradation of three saxitoxin analogues including saxitoxin (STX), gonyautoxin-2 and −3 (GTX 2/3), and n-sulfocarbamoylgonyautoxin-1 and −2 (C 1/2). Irradiation of STX and analogues in the presence or absence of dis… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
